St. Mary of the Angels is stated as an African American Parish Church but is multi-cultural within each parish family members. The parish church foundation is 1925, and the patroness of the church is St. Mary of the Angels. St. Mary of the Angels finds its origin with the Franciscan Parish Church outside the walls of Assisi, Italy. Within this church in Assisi hold the original church of the Franciscan Friars known as the Portiuncula ("little portion"). Hence, the Patroness of St. Mary of the Angels is Mary the mother of God. All are welcome: past, present and future families who have, are or would like to become parishioners.
