Parish Inspiration - Ideas for the Year of the Eucharist in Parish Life
Weekly Adoration in our Church on Wednesday Nights. This could be an “adopted” by a ministry. For example, the first Wed. Adoration in October is for Right to Life issues & we pray a special Right to Life Rosary during the hour. The different “themes,” if you will, tend to invite NEW people to the Adoration Hour. We have also done this in conjunction with praying for a sick parishioner (twice I have led this for a school mom with cancer) and Fr.Pat has also done a Healing Night, where you could come and receive prayer & even the sacrament of the sick. Those nights can be very powerful.
Women’s & Men’s Ministry – small groups that meet on a regular basis are always looking for new material. The Year of the Eucharist could be woven in here for sure.
Parents' Club, Mother’s Club & Men’s Club – these ministries are very social and service driven. Parishes and schools often struggling to bring a “spiritual” component to these organizations. Consider hosting a quareterly Mass where the members of these organiatins are invited to sit together, wear their shirts if applicable, and engage members in liturgical ministry.
Scouts – our scouts can earn Catholic badges – having an element of the Year of the Eucharist available for these little Catholics specifically would be nice.
Lent - Stations of the Cross for various age groups and conclude with Exposition, Adoration, and Benediction.
Lent - In light of COVID, consider organizing an outdoor Way of the Cross for witness to the broader community and more potential participation amongst the faithful.
Vacation Bible School in the summer
Youth Ministry – offer your CYO an Adoration Meeting at least once this year.
